VetTutor is a study resource with numerous features not available elsewhere to help you pass your exams. It is an interactive, online way of revising for your veterinary exams. A question bank is a large volume of questions stored on an online database by speciality and species. Users have access to all the questions, and can answer them at any time, anywhere in the world.

Once you log in to the portal, you can see detailed reports on your progress in every subject area, so you can put your study time where it helps you most. We use evidence based study strategies such as spaced repetition: the platform remembers the questions you answer incorrectly and asks them again until you get them right.

VetTutor has the most extensive question database of its type in the UK, with more than 11,000 questions and detailed answer explanations that serve as key learning material. A large team of veterinary and technical staff keeps the material relevant and up to date across every specialty, based on the latest evidence based veterinary medicine and national guidelines.

Questions are written by students who have just passed finals, or by veterinary surgeons. We have a team of veterinary surgeons with specialist interests in every major area on the question bank, who respond to student questions and assist with the editorial process.

We have a strong ethos of only providing high quality, relevant questions and teaching notes. Questions and answers are peer reviewed by our expert team of over 10 vets, with specialists in exotics, farm, equine and small animals reviewing questions in their section. There is a rigorous 10 point checklist, followed by a detailed professional editorial process, before a question goes live. We do not add filler questions to bump up the count, we do not include exact past paper questions, and we do not include out of date questions. We use user feedback and scoring data to exclude any underperforming questions.

No. VetTutor questions are original and copyrighted, and are not taken from previous exam papers. Printing, distributing or any other use of the questions, answers, explanations, photographs or other material on this site is strictly prohibited without express written consent from VetTutor.

The practice questions are formatted similarly to the actual exam, where similar themes are tested, so you become more familiar and comfortable with the types of questions and the way they are phrased. The Qbank covers the most relevant and commonly tested topics; we exclude most of the minutiae that would be less efficient to study, clearly marking these as difficulty level 5 questions.

Our users tell us that even when a question is not identical to the actual exam, the material they have learned helps them rationalise and prioritise answers, and see the way an examiner thinks.

There are over 50 mock exams containing 500+ new questions. Our mock exams are university specific, to represent the different styles of questioning across vet schools. The question bank has over 11,000 practice questions, which are separate from the mock exam questions.

We are so confident in our question bank that if you do not pass your finals, you are entitled to a free resubscription to the question bank. To be eligible:

• You subscribed to the correct 12 month question bank for the exam you are sitting.
• You contact us within one month of receiving your exam results.
• You have reasonably used the question bank (we look for a completion rate of over 70% of the questions and videos).
• You provide a scanned copy of your results letter from your university.

There are more than 11,000 questions in the VetTutor database, and we add more every month. There are also 50+ mock exams with over 500 new questions, and over 200 mock questions on the RCVS Day One Competencies.

There are two modes:

• Revision mode: work through questions at your own pace, in your own time, as many times as you want.
• Exam mode: simulates mock exams under timed conditions.

Yes. In the first instance, we cross reference all our material with the relevant national bodies such as the RCVS, BVA, BEVA and the BSAVA Small Animal Formulary.

The question bank is currently aimed at veterinary medicine students, however we frequently have nursing students sign up. The team are working hard behind the scenes on a specific veterinary nursing question bank, which will follow the curriculum described by the RCVS and BVNA. We expect to launch it soon.

The question bank is aimed at veterinary preclinical and clinical students in all years, and new grad vets. The platform covers the basic sciences, including anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, neuroscience, histology, cytology, genetics, dermatology and many other specialties.

While our platform is developed by UK based vets and guided by the UK veterinary curriculum, we have had many users from all over the world use and love it, as it offers so many ways to learn, practise and revise veterinary medicine at veterinary school level. All our preclinical questions are relevant to students across the globe.

The drugs available and the techniques or medicine may differ between countries. In countries such as Australia, New Zealand and the USA, the techniques and medicines are more similar. If you are from a country with its own set of guidelines, you may wish to check them when revising, just to be sure.

Yes, VetTutor allows subscription extensions at any time. When your subscription expires, you will automatically be prompted to sign up for an extension if you wish.

Yes, VetTutor allows subscription upgrades at any time.

VetTutor absolutely prohibits account sharing and monitors all account activity. We reserve the right to cancel a subscription if unauthorised use is suspected.

Sharing an account also alters your personalised performance record and masks your weak areas, and it interferes with the spaced repetition algorithm, making your revision less effective.

The most common cause of registration failure is an incorrect billing address, name, card number or card expiry date. Please double check your details.

If you are sure everything is correct but still receive the same error, contact VetTutor support and we can manually assist you to register.

You can access VetTutor from any computer or mobile device with an internet connection. A high speed connection is most efficient for study. Your web browser must have JavaScript enabled and allow both cookies and pop ups for the most seamless experience. Please contact us if you have any issues.

This is extremely rare, but in the unlikely event it happens, please flag the question on the Qbank using the flag feature. You can also email the question to info@vettutor.co.uk, indicating what you believe to be incorrect and, if you have one, a reference for your viewpoint. The VetTutor team meets bi monthly to review questions about course material and make changes as needed, contacting a specialist for a second opinion where appropriate.

Firstly, breathe. You have made it this far in your education. Let us triage, prioritise and make the most of the time you have. Quality far outweighs quantity.

• The weak spots: do not avoid them. Break each into the famous five, the five most commonly tested topics, and start there.
• High yield: focus on the key conditions, not the rare genetic or dermatological cases.
• For each condition, think of five things: presentation, differentials, diagnostics, treatment and prevention or control.
• Do not forget yourself: regular exercise, seeing friends and treating yourself will clear your mind and prevent burnout.

The million pound question! There is no single best way, as we are all individuals, but here are some tried and tested tips.

• Practise questions: the best form of revision. The more you do, the easier it gets to pick out keywords and see what the examiner is looking for.
• Plan: take it one day at a time. You do not need a set number of hours per topic; be organised and keep a revision checklist. Each week, scan some lecture notes and focus on five high yield topics per specialty.
• Do the VetTutor question of the day, a quick and informal way to test yourself with randomly allocated questions.
• Combine techniques: use the question bank to reinforce concepts, read or rewrite notes if that suits you, then answer mock questions on that topic.
