Everything we do comes back to helping students pass their veterinary exams. VetTutor began when an equine veterinary surgeon and a medical doctor joined forces, both believing the resources students relied on were not good enough, not affordable, and not built with the student in mind.
VetTutor is an extensive question bank with thousands of detailed questions and answers, written by vets and by students who have just passed finals. Every question is peer reviewed by our expert team, with specialists across exotics, farm, equine and small animals reviewing their own field. There is a rigorous ten point checklist and a professional editorial process before any question goes live. We do not add filler questions to bump up the count, we do not use past paper questions, and we do not include out of date questions.
At a time when becoming a vet is increasingly expensive, from registration fees to the rising cost of living, we are committed to offering a quality revision resource at the lowest possible cost. Everyone deserves a shot at their dream job, so we offer free subscriptions to students on Gateway programmes and to those studying veterinary medicine in the developing world.
Making veterinary medicine accessible for all
Data from the Association of Veterinary Students suggests many students struggle to meet living expenses, with over a third now working part time and an average shortfall of around two thousand pounds a year. We keep our resources as cost effective as possible, and we are proud to provide bursaries each year for students from widening participation backgrounds, including courses, classroom sessions and personal mentoring. We love working with individuals, charities, schools and other organisations to help students with bursaries, online courses and more.

Dr Shane D'Souza
Shane is a junior doctor based on the outskirts of London. He co-founded an education consultancy in 2020 as a final year medical student and developed VetTutor three years later. His focus is to coordinate the teams building the platform and to spearhead the future vision of the company.
From very early in his career Shane has been passionate about excellence in education and academia. He started tutoring almost a decade ago before teaching anatomy and pharmacology at the University of Oxford, and has held positions as an interviewer and honorary clinical fellow at the University of Liverpool. His experience working with students in some of the most deprived suburbs of Merseyside, and charitable work in Malawi, inspired his ambition for the widening access programme.
Dr Georgina Kivneen
Georgina is a veterinary surgeon who graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2021 with honours, going on to complete a rotating internship and gain broad experience in small animal and equine practice across both primary care and referral settings. On the platform she coordinates VetTutor's veterinary curriculum and oversees the development of questions and answers, keeping every guideline current and every management plan evidence based.
She has a particular interest in neurology and in emergency and critical care, and is currently working towards a Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice (CertAVP) in the latter, with her qualification pending. Alongside clinical work, Georgina is passionate about writing and teaching. She recently completed a Clinical Teaching Fellowship in Veterinary Science at Harper and Keele Veterinary School, achieving Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA), and holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Conservation Medicine from the University of Edinburgh.
She has mentored many prospective vet students from a variety of backgrounds, leads on the UK National MMI Course, and provides one to one student support. Outside of work she plays several instruments in numerous ensembles and enjoys running through the great outdoors.
